GENTRY COUNTY, MO. (2009-10-27) The Missouri Supreme Court hears a case today originating from Gentry County.
On the docket is "The State of Missouri Verses Vanessa Severe". It's an appeal from severe who was convicted under State Law of being a persistent DWI offender after being found guilty a third time when she flipped her car into a ditch in January of 2007. However, during one of her prior convictions her sentence was put on hold, so she's arguing before the Supreme Court it shouldn't count toward her being labeled as a persistent DWI Law breaker. A ruling in today's hearing isn't expected for several weeks.
