ST. JOSEPH, MO. (2009-10-16) Federal Money has been secured for Missouri River Levees in St. Joseph.
Senator Kit Bond's office says it's part of a 243 million dollar package coming to missouri for flood protection, clean energy, and river projects. Just short of $300,000 to restore the authorized levels of protection to the Levee systems running from St. Joseph up to Elwood and Wathena Kansas. The Money is in the US Congress's conference report to the fiscal year 2010 energy and water spending bill and must till work its way through both houses and be signed into law.
