MARYVILLE, MO (2009-10-21) This week is National School Bus Safety Week.
Authorities are reminding all drivers to pay attention to the laws dealing with busses and the children getting on and off. The Maryville school district's bus contractor, Jarnick Busses, is also sending that message. Manager Randy Swinford says people should be extra careful whenever a school bus is around. Swinford suggests the public watch for children on the side streets as well as kids crossing the street. The highway patrol says Missouri school busses were involved in more than a thousand crashes last year alone.
