October Cancer

Coffey/Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2009-10-13) This is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and local experts are spreading the word on prevention.

Women's health nurse practioner on the Northwest Campus Judy Freuh says women ages 20 to 30 should have a clinical mammogram every 3 years. She says women over age 40 should have yearly mammograms, and self-exams monthly. But she says there are other things you can also do to prevent the disease. Freuh adds early detection is key to battling breast cancer.
