MARYVILLE, MO (2009-10-20) Money pouring into Maryville is causing alarm.
It's to upgrade the city's emergency warning siren system. About $175,000 have been secured for Maryville that comes from the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill that passed the US House last week. It's expected to easily pass the senate this week and be signed into law. The $175,000 will replace 4 aging warning sirens, and build another one at Mozingo lake East of the City. Officials say the existing 5 weather sirens in Maryville are remnants of the civil deffense siren system, which are old and deteriorating.
