MARYVILLE, MO (2009-10-19) A rash of stolen vehicles in Maryville has authorities reminding residents to keep their cars locked.

Public safety sergeant Jeremy Ferris says thieves stole 6 cars in Maryville during the past 3 months. 5 of the 6 have been recovered. Also in the last three months, at least 8 car break-ins have been reported. Ferris says there are things you can do to keep your property safe. Investigators say the most common items being stolen are stereos, phones, and especially GPS units.
