MARYVILLE, MO (2008-10-21) Mound City's swimming pool doesn't leak anymore, but operating it is like trying to stay above water.
That's the report council members heard at their latest city council meeting.
City crews had caulked and painted the pool… and that made it possible to use 225 thousand gallons less water this last swimming season than in 2007.
The city plans on paining it again in the spring to help with the maintenance.
However council members also reviewed the operating loss of 6 thousand dollars for the pool….That was through the end of september.
In other news Mound City was awarded a grant of nearly 5 thousand dollars to the police department to purchase a dash mounted camera and two taser guns.
The city will be adopting a written policy on taser gun use in the near future.
