MARYVILLE, MO (2008-10-24) More than half a million customers of Missouri gas energy will see their natural gas rates drop instead of go up.
However, the total bill might still be higher than last year.
Missouri gas energy has facilities and customers in the St. Joseph and the Kansas City area.
It's gotten permission from state regulators to drop the natural gas rates from a dollar-four per hundred cubic feet down to 94 cents.
That cheaper rate takes effect November first.
But the company warns even though rates are dropping, bills will still be higher because of higher wholesale suppliers are charging higher rates.
The company estimates the average customer will have to pay 77 dollars more than last winter.
