MARYVILLE, MO (2008-10-16) Drivers traveling between Maryville and Mozingo Lake know just how bone-jarring that trip can be.
Now… confirmation the state is going to do something about it.
Several months ago MODOT tried to repair much of Highway 136 - the main artery coming into the city's east side… but it has since crumbled, broken up, and become cratered.
The city says state crews plan on staring in early March… resurfacing the stretch… starting from Maryville's east side and working toward Mozingo Lake.
As part of the project the city will cost-share with the state to widen shoulders and create a hike-bike trail.
Officials expect once the roadwork begins, it should be a relatively short project.
