The importance of character is spreading in northwest Missouri.

On the heels of a similar program launched in nodaway county several years ago, the st. Joseph chamber is starting it's new educational program called "signs of a successful person".

Each month a character trait is being promoted- for instance this month's is "self-control".

The chamber says promoting good character can only help workforce development.

This week hundreds of posters are being distributed to schools and businesses to market the word of the month.
