The Firearm Deer Season in Missouri is underway.

Atchison County, Missouri Conservation Agent Eric Abbott says the number of deer taken during the first weekend is down somewhat from previous years.

Abbott reminds hunters to always wear their bright orange when hunting, and to double check the target before firing to prevent any unintentional injuries.
