US 136 Reopens

Wayman

STANBERRY, MO (2011-11-17)

Northwest Missouri travelers will have a little easier trip after months of road closures and detours.

U.S. 136 at Stanberry is re-opening today following 8 months of work to replace three bridges west of Stanberry. The construction is part of the Missouri Department of Transportation's Safe and Sound Project. MoDOT is in the process of repairing or replacing more than 800 bridges statewide to improve the state's infrastructure. MoDOT customer relations specialist Holly Hailey says motorists will see major improvements to the road when they travel.

The triple-bridge project west of Stanberry cost about 2.73 million dollars.
