ST. JOSEPH, MO (2011-11-16)
Animal control and rescue of St. Joseph received a $44,785 grant from Missouri Homeland Security Office for an animal rescue and sheltering trailer.
Flooding from the spring and summer affected many residents and their pets, with limited resources on a local level the displacement of animals became a problem. The rescue trailer will enhance response to disasters and large impoundments of domestic animals. The unit includes a fresh-water holding tank, generator, exterior doors that open to view the animals and a built-in sink.
