MARYVILLE, MO (2011-11-11)

Veterans from Nodaway County will be recognized at the courthouse in Maryville this morning.

This year's keynote speaker is Missouri National Guard captain Ryan Jennings. He's with the Maryville headquarters but also endured the Bataan Memorial Death March in March of this year. Program organizer Bob Bohlken says the Maryville native was chosen because of his local ties and service to the country.

Also at the service will be Melissa Schmitz and Anita Dew singing "God Bless America" and the national anthem. A memorial wreath will also be placed. The 11-11-11 event starts at 11 O'clock this morning on the west side of the courthouse in Maryville.
