MARYVILLE, MO (2011-11-29)
Despite numbers being down for opening weekend, this November's deer harvest in Missouri beat last year's figures.
The Missouri Department of Conservation says the 11-day firearms hunt took nearly 2,000 more deer this month than this time last year, for a total of 190,089 deer harvested. The conservation department is also pointing out the economic impact the hunting season has on the Show-Me-State claiming 700 million dollars are spent by in-state and out-of-state hunters effecting 11,000 jobs across Missouri.
