BUCHANAN COUNTY, MO (2011-11-16)
The farm services agency in Buchanan county says harvest yields this year in Missouri were definitely impacted by the flooding.
FSA director there Craig Everly says Missouri River flooding caused widespread destruction after the dam was destroyed in the southwest part of the state. And of course yields dropped in Holt and Atchison counties as crop land was flooded out. But Everly says Buchanan and other areas not impacted by the Missouri River showed bright spots. The Farm Service Agency is in the beginning stages of reporting crop losses for this season. Producers can contact their local office to file claims.
