The city commission of Atchison meets this afternoon.

On the agenda is a special proclamation expected to be issued related to the grain elevator explosion. Mayor Allen Reavis will declare this Wednesday as "Community Remembrance Day" in Atchison to recognize the 6 killed in the elevator explosion and victims of industrial accidents everywhere whose lives were lost too soon. The commission will also be discussing a feasibility study on City Hall, taking bids for work at the water treatment plant, and authorizing the $17,000 re-build of a water intake pump. The Atchison Kansas City Commission meets at 4:30 this afternoon at City Hall.
