MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-10) Despite Missouri's bleak financial picture, Maryville representative Mike Thomson says don't expect taxes to go up to cover the shortfall.
Thomson spoke at yesterday's legislative breakfast sponsored by the Maryville Chamber. He warns lawmakers and the governor are starting to consider possible budget cuts to state services and programs but don't expect any tax hikes to balance the budget. Thomson says the governor's budget cuts will arrive on lawmaker's desks at the end of January or early February then the house will discuss the plan and hand it off to the senate for consideration sometime in March.
