ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-11-30) Despite the lagging economy, St. Joseph is celebrating the creation of 37 new jobs.
Governor Jay Nixon was in town yesterday for the announcement. Sunshine Electronic Display, an electric sign manufacturer, is adding 25 new employees to it's staff of 51. Sunshine has been in St. Joseph since 1977 and will receive $190,000 in tax credits through the Missouri enhanced enterprise zone program. A second employer, Van-Am Tool and Engineering, will be adding 12 new positions with an average salary of $31,000. Van-Am will receive about 89,000 in tax credits the next 5 years. The governor calls the two expansions evidence that Missouri's economy is on the move.
