MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-10) A national hero is added to the university's lecture line up and will be coming to Maryville next month.

Shawn Johnson won the gold for america during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing China. Johnson was raised in west Des Moines and qualified for the US Olympic team at age 16. Last year she was also crowned champion on the hit TV series "Dancing With The Stars". The Olympian will be speaking on Monday, December 6th at the Houston Center for the Performing Arts on the Northwest Missouri State campus. The lecture begins at 7.
