MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-26) Concluding our series on the state budget and pressure on our region's colleges and universities, we hear about funding strategies.
Missouri governor has asked schools to prepare multi-year funding strategies in light of a major cut from state coffers next year. Northwest Missouri State University president Dr. John Jasinski says his school's first step was to look internally not just at what the state would provide. Missouri colleges and universities are bracing for state funding cuts of up to 25% which translates into millions of dollars in shortfall for each school and most likely some percentage of tuition increases across the state next fall.
