MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-23) Seven housing projects in the listening are among more than 100 vying for state tax breaks.
The Missouri Housing Development Commission says 110 applications have been received from developers wanting to create affordable housing. They include both rehabilitating existing structures or building new ones. One project is 48 new townhomes for families on South Main in Maryville. The Prairie Village, Kansas Developer tells us the 2-story row house structures would be on South Main near many amenities and the South Main corridor of shopping in Maryville. They say the start of the townhomes would be dependent on approval of financing from the state. Other projects in our area include 20 new units on Kansas Avenue in St. Joseph, 40 units on Sherman in St. Joseph, 52 senior apartments in Savannah, and re-habbing 72 units in Grand River Estates in Chillicothe. The state commission will review the applications for those projects and is expected to approve many of them in February or early Spring.
