Nocomo Audit

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-24) Maryville's sheltered workshop is back in compliance with state regulations after investigators found a list of safety and health issue violations for disabled workers.

Nocomo industries first fell out of compliance in May. Yesterday a state inspector came back up and declared the sheltered workshop "Much Improved" saying conditions are night and day for the better. Board president Dave Lawyer says part of the changes dealt with storage of community good will donations which he says was over running the workshop and being mis-used by some almost as a dump. Lawyer says Nocomo will again begin accepting donations about February next year. He adds their thrift store downtown will remain open and operating.
