MOUND CITY, MO (2010-11-18) Mound City Board of Aldermen approve allowing wine to be served during Sunday afternoon's "Friends of the Library" membership appreciation event in Mound City.
The event is for current and potential members of the group. In the recent meeting the Mound City Aldermen also approved paying $500 to Glenn Caton to take down the old storm siren at city hall. It will be in storage while the scrap iron. The push also continues to get citizen surveys turned in as part of the process of landing a community development block grant for Mound City. Council members are pledging to go door to door to ensure as many of the surveys are turned in as possible and that envelopes are provided as an extra level of making sure the surveys are anonymous. Mound City can't apply for the funding if less than 78% of the surveys are returned.
