LINN COUNTY, MO (2010-10-15) State officials have released a report on Linn County's finances finds income has dropped for the county the last two years but it's still in good financial shape.
Auditors noted Linn County Government brought in moer revenues than expenditures by enarly $11,000 in 2008 and had $154,000 extra at the end of 2009. Investigators note that sales tax income for Linn County remained constant over the past two years but warns with the nation's current economic woes, that could change both sales taxes and property taxes when preparing next year's budget. Auditors add increased costs for fuel, materials, Equipment and utilities could also be a challenge moving forward. The report also shows on the last day of 2008 and 2009, Linn County had no outstanding long-term debt.
