ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-11-23) A major St. Joseph Park is closed as work starts to transform it into a popular holiday destination.
The city says the gates at Krug Park on St. Joseph's Northwest side will remain locked most of this week, as city crews get ready for the "Holiday Park" tours. Area residents will see Christmas lights and other decorations to celebrate the season as they drive through the park later this week. The police have also begun around the clock security presence at Krug Park. This Friday night, the day after Thanksgiving, the city will flip the switch at 6 O'clock and re-open the park so drivers can see it. It will remain open and decorated through the first week of January during the hours of 6 to 10 each night.
