Jail Mentors

Wayman

TRENTON, MO (2010-11-30) North Missouri residents are being asked to volunteer for a new mentoring program just being started.

It's for prisoners that are getting out of our county jails, ready to re-enter society. Offender empowerment case manager at the Green Hills Community action agency Mark Gratton says leaning on a community resident as a mentor can cut down jail returns by 40%. Residents will be mentoring those getting out the county jails in Caldwell, Daviess, Grundy, Harrison, Livingston, Linn, Mercer, Putnam, and Sullivan Counties. You can contact the Green Hills Community action agency in Trenton for more information.
