Highway Patrol Officer Retires

CHILLICOTHE, MO (2010-11-16) A long-time highway patrol Colonel with north Missouri ties who worked his way up through the department is retiring.

Gary Moore graduated from the Chillicothe high school and went on to graduate from the highway patrol's recruiting class in 1981. He served as a patrolman in Grundy, Mercer, Nodaway, and Worth counties, before being promoted to seargeant and serving in Harrison and Gentry. In 1997 he transferred to the governor's security detail and became director of that division in 2001. Moore became director of the driver examiniation division for the state in 2007. Moore retires after 29 years with the Missouri Highway Patrol.
