MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-23) Authorities release more information on that high speed chase through most of Northwest Missouri last week.
The Highway Patrol says they were looking for a stolen jeep from Maryville and spotted it going South on Highway 71 in Nodaway County. Troopers tried to pull over the driver, 46 year old Kenneth Lingar from the Joplin area. That is when they say he sped up leading them down interstate 29 at speeds of up to 90 miles per hour. The Highway Patrol eventually caught Lingar in Clay County on Interstate 35. He was arrested for tampering with a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, and several traffic charges. Lingar remains in the Nodaway County Jail pending his court appearance.
