ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-11-08) Governor Jay Nixon announced his new appointments to six boards and commissions.
Two of the appointees are from St. Joseph Missouri and they are Leo Blakley and Penny Adams. Blakley will serve on the Missouri Western State University's board of governors. The board establishes policies, by laws, rules and regulations for control and government for the university. Blakley currently works for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Blakley's term is set until the end of October 2016 and is pending approval from state lawmakers. Penny Adams of St. Joseph, was appointed to the state rehabilitation council where the council reviews, analyzes and advises the Missouri division of vocational rehabilitation. Adams is the Co-director of the Northwest Missouri United Labor Community Services Agency, and her term will last until March of 2012.
