ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-11-26) Now that the giving season has begun, a project in St. Joseph is urging residents to give for a cause and become "Greener" as well.
Second Harvest Community Food Bank is sponsoring "Go Green and Get Green". Residents can drop off used CD's, DVD's, old cell phones, and comic books at the Hy-Vee in St. Joseph. Second Harvest says the used item recycling effort can help out the needy in the St. Joseph area. It's estimated 426,000 cell phones are thrown away in the united states every day. The project is running from noon to 7 each weekday.
