ST. JOSEPH, MO (2010-11-18) An autopsy is planned on the St. Joseph man who died after city police took him into custody early yesterday morning.

St. Joseph Police say an officer stopped a car driven by the unnamed 46 year old man around 2:30 yesterday morning. They say the man got out and ran, chased by the officer. He was taken into custody after a short struggle, then collapsed after arriving at the Law Enforcement Center in St. Joseph. He was pronounced dead at HeartLand Hospital. His body was taken to Topeka for the autopsy.
