CLINTON COUNTY, MO (2010-11-26) The results are out for the state audit of Clinton county government operations.

State investigators say the county ran a deficit in the years 2008 and 2009 which is against state statutes. They also say some bank accounts for various county funds were not reconciled on a monthly basis. Auditors also found the need for more segregation of duties when it comes to handling checks for Clinton county and officials there did not have a two signature rule on checks. Clinton county officials say they are working to correct the problems found in the state report.
