MARYVILLE, MO (2010-11-12) Regional law enforcement and city officials have a chance for unique training session this week.
This Thursday the Missouri Humane Society will offer an animal welfare training session in Maryville. The topic is not covered in the police academy training and officers are often involved with animal welfare issues related to their cases. Animal abuse connected with family violence, euthanasia procedures, and other topics will be discussed. University police officer Kristina Martinez coordinated the event. She says it's a great event needed in our region. The training session starts at 8:00 Thursday morning and lasts until noon in the station conference room at the University in Maryville.
