Safe Routes Ribbon Cutting

MARYVILLE, MO (2009-11-12) Maryville is marking more progress in its developing trails program.

Next Friday will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new "Safe Routes to Schools" program. It's named that based on a grant the city received to construct another spur of the multi-use trails system. This first section lets school children to walk, wheel, and bicycle to school. Organizers also hope the trails will encourage activity and a healthy lifestyle. The ribbon cutting and inaugural walk is set at the trailhead behind the Maryville. Middle school next Friday morning at 10.
