Maryville Elevator

MARYVILLE, MO (2009-11-19) This week's wet weather means even more delays for area farmers.

This, after an already wet season, is adding more insult to grain producers. Reports say most producers are now about a month behind in harvesting corn. The soybean harvest is about 11 days behind schedule. Maryville's Elevator is seeing late deliveries, and the MFA agriculture services manager Kieran Wilmes says the corn coming in late means their operations will probably run late as well. Wilmes predicts most Maryville area producers will finish harvesting well before Christmas.
