MARYVILLE, MO (2009-11-17) North Missouri customers of empire gas get good news: their bills are actually going down.
State regulators have approved a plan to lower the charges for more than 44,000 empire district gas company customers. The company's service area is broken up into various districts which will have different reductions. For Chillicothe, Marceline, and Trenton, the natural gas rates are dropping about 21 cents per hundred cubic feet. In Maryville, Rockport and Tarkio, it will drop about 25 cents. The decreases are because of cheaper natural gas rates the company buys.
