Drug Use Up

Wayman

MARYVILLE, MO (2009-11-23) Northwest Missouri authorities say DWI cases are on the rise but it's much different than what you're probably thinking.

Authorities say they're seeing DWI's shift from drunk drivers over to high drivers those using drugs and driving while intoxicated. A recent forum was held with multiple police and prosecutors from North Missouri to discuss the trend. Nodaway County prosecutor David Baird credits the police for the increased numbers. Baird says North Missouri drivers arrested for allegedly being high are falling into all age groups.
