MARYVILLE, MO (2008-11-19) Renovations are coming to Nebraska City's public safety building.
City Council members approved a $1.2 million contract to rife construction to expand the building which houses the city's rescue department, building inspector and fire department.
City manager Arnold Ehlers says this will make operations between police and the other city departments much easier.
The council also approved a loan for an economic development company to renovate a vacant building on 11th street…which will bring a few full-time positions to the city.
Also the council agreed to prepare a presentation for revitalizing the downtown area.
The council stressed the need to expand Nebraska city's entertainment district…specifically to increase the size of the city's theatre.
