MARYVILLE, MO (2008-11-20) With a thrift-store complex opening in Maryville's downtown district plus a pet grooming business also starting up, Maryville seems to be bucking the economic downturn.
Chamber Executive Director Lisa Luke says gas prices dropping could be giving potential entrepreneurs an extra level of confidence.

Luke adds she's heard from a few local small businesses there is some belt tightening going on- looking at staffing in anticipation of harder times next year.
