Trenton Water Plant

Wayman

TRENTON, MO (2012-05-02)

The city of Trenton joins others in our region in trying to figure out how to pay for mandated water plant upgrades.

The EPA is requiring water plant owners to retrofit their municipal plants to higher environmental standards. Trenton city manager Kerry Sampson says his city will have to spend about 3 million dollars for the upgrades, and don't have a lot of time to get them done.

Sampson says Trenton will be undergoing a rate study to determine how much water rates will have to rise to pay for the mandated construction.
