The Maryville public library is announcing it will start its summer reading series a little earlier this year.

Maryville library director Stephanie Patterson says library patrons are always eager to get started on summer reading before June and with schools beginning summer break earlier this year due to less snow days May 29th will kick off the summer reading series. Patterson says special events are scheduled this summer.

Patterson adds this year to earn prizes readers will log the amount of the time spent reading rather than amount of books read. For more information on Maryville Public Library's Summer Reading Series and Events you can call the library at 660-582-5281.
