ST. JOSEPH, MO (2012-05-17)
Missouri senators debated House Bill 1361, which would allow to broadband service providers or rural electric cooperatives to attach, maintain and operate their equipment on another utility pole.
Republican Senator Rob Schaaf of St. Joseph, questioned if a certain rural electric cooperative or REC was trying to get its own subsidiaries the ability to offer broadband over any other provider.
Schaaf proposes giving the REC's the power to not allow other broadband providers to attach to their utility poles without entering into a written agreement between both parties. House Bill 1361 was tabled for further debate.© Copyright, KXCV
