MARYVILLE, MO (2012-05-21)

The Maryville Board of Education recently heard an update on the school district's technology plan for the next academic year.

The district is putting an emphasis on mobile technology and getting away from computers located in a fixed positions in the classroom. Assistant Superintendent Steve Klotz says the school district is looking at increasing the number of laptops, iPads, Nooks and other mobile devices within the district. Klotz says mobile devices offer several advantages for everyone involved.

Klotz says a planning committee has been reviewing the Maryville School District's use of technology and how to best use technology in the classroom.
