Maryville Post Office in good shape

Coffey

MARYVILLE, MO (2012-05-14)

An announcement last week from officials with the United States Postal Service was good news for rural post offices that were in danger of closing in an effort to cut costs.

The USPS is opting instead to cut hours and possible some of th services offered by those post offices. Locally, Maryville Postmaster Paul Eschbacher says the Maryville Post Office has always been in a good position.

USPS officials indicate 500 million dollars could be saved by the time last week's announcement is fully implemented in 2014.
