Floppy Corn Syndrome

Due to the lack of rain in Northwest Missouri, farmers are dealing with the problem of Floppy Corn Syndrome. 

Regional Agronomist at the University of Missouri extension, Wayne Flanary, say this problem occurs during an early stage before the corn plant can set permanent roots.

Shallow Painting and Soil being washed away from a plant during rain also contribute to the problem. Flanary says he hopes the plants survive until a rain event so they can move into moist soil.
