LIVINGSTON COUNTY, MO (2012-05-25)
The Livingston County sheriff's department investigated a report of animal abuse earlier this week in wheeling.
A Bystander reported the owner of a black-colored dog was seen attempting to kill the animal with a bow and arrow and eventually stabbed that dog several times with a pitchfork before killing it. The owner's actions with the dog came after the dog had bitten this brother earlier in the day. Livingston County sheriff Steve Cox says even though the dog had a history of aggressive behavior the incident should have been handled much differently.
Cox says the dog had attacked and injured a young person several months ago with the owner refusing to take action at the time. Cox says the report from the incident has been submitted to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren for this review.© Copyright, KXCV
