The 2013 through 2017 statewide transportation improvement program has been announced and includes many projects affecting northwest Missouri in the next 5 years.
Planned by state and regional planning agencies, the statewide transportation improvement program lists all road and bridge projects in the coming years. MoDOT northwest district planning manager Shannon Kusilek says all they can do for the next 5 years is maintain the roadways and bridges we already have.
Missouri's construction program has dropped from an average of 1.2 billion dollars in recent years to about 700 million dollars. In northwest Missouri the amount for the districts 5 year program is 175 million dollars which includes resurfacing 750 lane miles of roads, replacing 10 bridges and 15 bridges receiving new decks.© Copyright, KXCV
