Randy sChmid is a science writer for the associated press and says the term "Rain Wrapped" is fairly common in the Midwest, and can also be deadly.

Schmid adds heading for shelter is critical, as there are very few homes that can withstand a direct hit from strong tornadoes like Joplin experienced.
