MOUND CITY, MO (2011-05-03)
The Mound City School District has voted down a four day school week for the next school year.
In 2009 Missouri lawmakers passed legislation that would allow school districts to move to the four day school week. Mound City's superintendent Ken Eaton says the school district won't lose any money by not moving to the new schedule. But he says it would have saved the district opportunity money if the board had passed the proposal. Eaton says the board voted down the four day school week 3 to 4 and voted in a typical five day calendar that they had been using for the upcoming school year.
